Meet Sri Hollema

Founder. Designer. Changemaker.

Raised in developing countries as the daughter of humanitarians, Sri Hollema witnessed from an early age what many never see: families living without safe, reliable warmth. Makeshift shelters. Toxic fumes. Bitter cold. The daily realities of vulnerable communities stayed with her.

Fuelled by those early experiences, Sri combined her passion for people and planet and her background in Product Design and Technology.  Mat Zero is the result – an impact-first enterprise built on the belief that warmth is not a luxury, but a universal right.

Determined to change the way the world thinks about heating, Sri set out to create a solution that was safe, smart, and sustainable – a heating system designed not just for comfort, but for survival. What began as a deeply personal mission is now a growing global movement.

United for Impact
Together, we collaborate with mission-aligned partners to deliver warmth where it’s needed most.

“Engaging with Mat Zero and helping develop the project was an easy yes for Energy House Labs – Mat Zero’s goals perfectly aligned with our mission of understanding what works and what kind of difference successful technologies can make to people’s lives. We immediately saw the potential to create positive outcomes for many millions of people who live in some of the most difficult circumstances.”
Professor Will Swan
Director of Energy House Laboratories (EHL) at the University of Salford
"Working with Mat Zero has been a greatly rewarding experience. Their mission to provide sustainable and reliable warmth for those living in challenging conditions aligns with our aims to improve the lives of rural Nepali communities. Working with communities in the mountains of Nepal we can see the benefits of this technology as it offers a clean and efficient alternative to wood-based heating that reduces air quality and causes negative health impacts.".
Alan Sweetman
Executive Director Pahar Trust Nepal
Partnering with Mat Zero on the Energy Catalyst Project has been a pleasure for Solapak Development Ltd. Their desire to learn and willingness to adapt have served them and the project well as they navigate a product development journey encompassing materials science, electronic engineering, renewable energy deployment and real social impact for otherwise marginalised communities. We look forward to working further with the Mat Zero team, in keeping with our Mission of forming partnerships to provide accessible energy solutions
